running on Galaxy Nexus - not very well...
Monday, 05 December 2011 09:24

Sorry, it was too early for the announcement. There are still some problems to be solved:

  • No more data connection possible as soon as system files are installed
  • Crashes that sometimes result in failed connection to car kit

I'll try to fix that as soon as possible!

rSAP running on Galaxy Nexus!
Friday, 02 December 2011 19:22

After endless waiting I got my Galaxy Nexus Tongue out and I'm glad to say that rSAP runs. There is an issue with autostart so you have to start the rSAP app manually once after boot. I'll create an update for that.

Update for Phone Book Access Protocol
Saturday, 05 November 2011 17:28

I created an update for the Phone Book Access Protocol (PBAP) for AOSP based ROMs. This should fix some of the problems with phonebook transfer. You find the download and installation instructions in the forum:

http://forum.android-rsap.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=221

I tested the update with the 2011 Volkswagen Premium UHV and the Porsche PCM3. Please share your experience (positive and negative!) in the "Phone Book Access Protocol" forum. Please add the phone name, ROM version and car in the topic subject!

This update is not only for HTC and Samsung phones. It should work with all 2.3.x Android phones on all ROMs that use Bluetooth.apk for PBAP. HTC and Samsung stock ROMs don't use this file, although it is present, so it will not work.

rSAP does not work on HTC Sensation
Saturday, 30 July 2011 18:27

I got first feedback from users and took a look at the HTC Sensation RIL and Radio files and it sems that HTC made changes that break my rSAP implementation. Symbols in the radio image suggest that rSAP support is still there, but currently I don't know if it is somehow accessible from Android.

So as of now the HTC Sensation is not supported by the app.

I fear the same will be true for other new HTC phones like the EVO 3D but it's still worth a test. Please let me know!

Sorry.

Root for more HTC phones possible
Friday, 22 July 2011 11:30

I just stumbled over the news that it is now possible to "S-OFF" HTC phones with locked bootloaders, like HTC Wildfire, HTC Desire S, etc. and soon even the HTC Sensation and the EVO 3D! No more need for XTC Clip.

See http://alpharev.nl/x/beta/

After having S-OFF it should be possible to root the phone using the "usual tools".

As always: do this at your own risk...!
